Blizzard of 2009

Shane's first blizzard. Unfortunately, Josh got snowed in at work so Shane and I have not been able to venture outside yet. Hopefully soon!

Happy First Birthday!!

Today is Shane's first birthday! We love you, buddy!

So Cute

Nothing new. Just thought Shane looked so darn cute after his hair cut that we wanted to post a picture. We cant believe we will be celebrating his 1st birthday in just two weeks! He's gotten so big!

Halloween

Even though we did not go trick or treating, we still dressed Shane up!

Hayride

We took Shane to his first pumpkin patch this weekend. He went on a hayride and enjoyed most of it :) He aslo went down a slide, which he was not very happy about. Tonight we are carving pumpkins!

Busy Weekend

Its been a while since the last post. Since then, Shane is a pro at crawling, pulls himself up to stand, starts to cruise, and is not liking to chew his new food. We had a busy weekend. On Saturday, we took Shane to his first Apple picking experience. Josh loved it ;) We also took Shane to his first theme park, Kings Dominion. We tried to take him on some roller coasters, but the people there insisting it wasn't a good idea :) He ended up on the carousel and loved it!

New Word

Last Saturday, Shane said Mama! And this Saturday, a Redskins outfit!

Shane's first trip to Pittsburgh

Last week we took Shane to Pittsburgh to visit his Grandma and Great Aunt & Uncle. We also got to do a little site seeing. Shane got to view a Pittsburgh Italian Hoagie and a Primanti Brothers sandwich. One day he will get to try one. He also got his very first hair cut! It was much needed.

Sitting and Scooting

Shane has finally mastered the art of sitting. He has also taken up scooting, which requires a lot more baby proofing.

First Word

Its been a while since the last post but the only new news is that Shane said his first word a couple of weeks ago. It was "dada"! Other than that, just really busy!

My two front teeth

Shane's first tooth showed up on June 16th, followed by his second less than two weeks later :) I finally got a good picture of them today. Click on the picture to get a better view.

Sweet Peas

Shane started sweet peas this week. When we gave him his first bite, he was definitely expecting it to be sweet potatoes. He got over it pretty quickly and now enjoys his peas. Good thing because mommy and daddy don't care for them :)

Concert & Sweet Potatoes

Two milestones in two days. Yesterday was Shane's first concert experience. He enjoyed watching all the people and listening to the loud music. This morning was Shane's first experience with sweet potatoes. We think he likes them!

Tummy Time

Not too much going on. Shane is just showing off his tummy time skills.

6 Months Old

Shane had his 6 month check-up on Friday. He is 15lbs 10oz and is 26.5 inches long. He is growing so quickly!

Swimming

Ok, sorry it has been a while since the last post. We have been very busy. This past weekend we went to visit our cousins who just graduated with their undergraduate and graduate degrees. During the visit, Shane got to play in his very own pool. Since he loves to take a bath, it was no wonder that he loved playing in the pool.

Weekend Visitors

Shane had some special visitors this weekend. I think Shane has a crush on Alyssa!

Mason

I think we have a Mason fan on our hands.

Rice Cereal

So the doctor wanted us to start Shane on rice cereal to help with his acid reflux. Last night was our first attempt. I let you judge how the night went...

Rolling

Yesterday, Shane rolled from his belly to his back. We have been wondering if this was something that would happen soon considering how much he dislikes being on his belly :)

4 Months Old

Today, Shane is 4 months old. We have had a very busy month. Lots of visitors. Shane has his 4 month check up on Monday. They will give us his new official weight.

Bumbo Chair

So last week we decided to get Shane a Bumbo Chair. His daycare has them and we always see the babies just sitting and staying out of trouble. So far, we think he likes it :)

Laughing

I am trying out the video feature of this blog. We finally got Shane to laugh on camera. It only took him getting a bath and having me laugh along with him.

Ok, so we used the snow as an excuse to make Shane wear this outfit :)

3 Months Old

Ok, its been a little while since the last post but there really has not been that much to discuss. Yesterday was Shane's 3 month birthday! We weighed him this morning and he is 12.2 lbs. I cant believe he has already doubled his weight.

Happy Valentine's Day

Shane's daycare has a parents night out once every month, so last night Josh and I got few extra hours to enjoy a pre-valentines day dinner. By the time we got home though, we really missed Shane so we went and picked him up early.

First Day of School

Yesterday was Shane's first day at day care. As you can see, he was sooo excited! He did absolutely wonderful. The teachers said he was so easy going. It was a little harder on us but we know that he was fine. I only called once to check up on him :)

Super Bowel XLIII

Looks like Shane is a good luck charm for the Steelers! Shane also had his 2 month check up today. He is 10lbs 3oz and 22 inches long. The doctor says he is growing beautifully. He also got three shots today. Although he was not happy about it, he only cried a little bit.

2 Months

Sometimes we cant believe it has only been 2 months, other times it feels so much longer.

Going to work

Today we took Shane to both Mommy and Daddy's work to show him off, so we needed to dress him up. We think he liked it.

A Historical Day

And Shane slept right through it :)
